At Merlin Music Academy, we believe music has the power to inspire, connect and build confidence. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll discover a welcoming community where everyone is encouraged to learn, grow and enjoy making music together.
Based in the beautiful Borders town of Melrose, with an additional studio in North Berwick, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming hundreds of children, teenagers and adults on their musical journey. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the very first time or looking to develop your existing skills, our experienced and passionate tutors are here to support you every step of the way.
We offer individual, group and online lessons across a wide range of musical styles, including Traditional, Folk, Blues, Rock & Pop, Jazz, Country and Acoustic music. We believe learning should be enjoyable, encouraging and tailored to every student, helping each person grow in confidence while discovering the joy of making music.
Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment is at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our teaching team is fully PVG registered and shares a genuine passion for helping students of all ages reach their potential. You don’t need any previous experience, and you don’t need to read music—just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity.
Our ethos is simple: music should be accessible to everyone. By bringing all of our teaching together under one roof, we’ve created much more than a music school—we’ve built a vibrant community where friendships are formed, confidence flourishes and music is shared every day.

Behind the scenes, our friendly team works hard to ensure everything at Merlin Music Academy runs smoothly, creating a welcoming and supportive experience for every student and family.
Bridget is the friendly face you’ll find in the Merlin office. She looks after bookings, billing and marketing, while keeping our students and families up to date with everything happening at the Academy. Whether you have a question, need some advice or simply want to know more about our lessons, Bridget is always happy to help and will make sure you receive a warm Merlin welcome.
