The Merlin Singing Retreat Day
(Open to current singers and anyone looking to find their voice)
Experience the healing, restorative connection between breath, song, sound and gentle movement
Come along and spend the day with Sue Cotterill and Kathy Stewart-Kennedy on Saturday 7th September 2019 at The Merlin Academy of Traditional Music, Unit 3, Palma Place, Melrose, TD6 9PR. Experience the benefits of breath and mindful singing on body, mind and spirit.
Movement will be gentle and relaxing, so light, loose clothing is needed. Mats and blankets and pillows will be provided unless you want to bring your own.
What to Expect
Kathy Stewart-Kennedy will be offering sessions in mindfulness through singing. No past experience in mindfulness is required and songs/chants will be taught by ear so you don’t need to be able to read music. This session will suit both experienced singers and those who have always wanted to find their voice. Kathy will be exploring singing in harmony as meditation, and providing participants with the ability to use the voice as a means of self-expression and healing. Kathy believes that group singing promotes well-being and joy.
